Bed in Summer
In winter I get up at night
And dress by yellow candle-light.
In summer quite the other way,
I have to go to bed by day.
I have to go to bed and see
The birds still hopping on the tree,
Or hear the grown-up people's feet
Still going past me in the street.

I love the return of warmer weather and longer days, but have to admit I've put my kids to bed too late on more than one occasion because I've been paying attention to the sun and not the clock!
beautiful little poem---Im a Spring person,and early summer-- I wake up to the bright light , and I can hear the birds, and the air spells so different,crispy and fresh-- I can't pay attention to the clock to much not even with the kids-- they are small enough that when they are tired they dont fight it-- brush the teeth, take a bath into jammies and off to bed.Thanks for the poem <3

DeleteIt will be interesting for you to see if your kids will always be great at going to sleep or if that will change overtime... fingers crossed for you....
oh I think it will depend on what is going on for them-- sometimes we do have pretty late night-- I hope but Im sure this is going to change as time goes on
