"Same Kind of Different as Me" Movie Giveaway

"Same Kind of Different as Me" is an uplifting movie that is based on a true story. Releasing nationwide on Friday, October, 20, 2017 "Same Kind of Different as Me" is a heartwarming movie that is recommended for ages 13 and up.

CHANGE YOUR WORLD!
...WITH ONE SIMPLE ACT OF KINDNESS

Greg Kinnear (least known for "Stuck on You"), Renee Zellweger (who portrayed Beatrix Potter in "Miss Potter"), and Djimon Hounsou (voice of Drago in "How to Train Your Dragon" 2 and 3) lead the cast in this movie. With excellent acting and strong emotions, "Same Kind of Different as Me" is sure to make an impression on you.

In "Same Kind of Different as Me" Debbie Hall, a woman with a heart of gold, has a dream about a homeless man that she feels compelled to find and befriend. Ron, her husband, is a self-absorbed art dealer who is on the verge of leaving their marriage. Can Ron and Debbie find this mysterious homeless man and if so, what kind of a difference will it make?

Thanks to an invitation by the Pure Flix team, my husband and I were able to pre-screen the movie "Same Kind of Different as Me". We loved that the movie leaves you with such a strong sense of hope. Throughout the movie Ron, Debbie and Denver make a difference in the lives of one another and in the lives of the people around them. Hopefully this movie will inspire you to make a difference, however small it may seem at first, in the life of another person.

    1. We love to do Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes too! In the past when I volunteered to check the boxes at the warehouse prior to shipping they mentioned that they often have a shortage of boxes for older kids. For that reason we do boxes for older kids too!

  13. I'm passionate about doing random acts of kindness every chance I get. One time my husband & I were in the car in the winter, trying to make it to a DR. appt. because I was sick. We were stopped at a red light in the small town we lived near then. An elderly man, very obviously extremely drunk stumbled off the curb trying to cross the street and fell flat on his face in the middle of the intersection and was trying to get up but couldn't because it was too slippery and he was too drunk. We both gasped when he fell but then even more so when to our shock and horror, ALL the other cars in the busy intersection and we KNOW they saw him!... they all started just going thru the intersection and driving around his body! NO ONE stopped or used their car to block/protect him .. nothing! I screamed worried he would get hit so I told my husband find a place to pull over and I opened the car door and jumped into the traffic holding up my arms to stop the cars and grabbed the old man to help him up and had to let him lean on me for support the whole time because it was obvious he would fall again from his drunkenness. Once I got him on the curb, I asked him where he was trying to go and he said "home" he just lived a few blocks away. So my husband and I held him up and walked him to his house and he was embarassed and grateful and we told him we were SO sorry people were so cruel to leave him there. He said "I deserve it I am just a worthless drunk " We told him, NO YOU ARE NOT, you are a human being and everyone has weaknesses and faults just some of them aren't visible to others that's all. EVERYONE is someone's someone special and should be treated like it. We should treat people not only how we would want to be treated but how we would hope one of our own dearest loved ones that we love more than life itself would be treated by strangers if in such a situation. SADLY to us this wasn't even a random act of kindness that we love doing, this one made us sad, because it seemed like EVERY car should have been stopping just out of human decency.

    1. That is so sad, Yvonne. Especially that he felt he deserved to be treated that way. I'm so glad that you and your husband were there to keep him safe and show him love.

  14. We just moved into a new apt. building. The complex has over 800 apts but each building only has 6 apts. We don't know any of the neighbors in the other 5 apts and that's ok. Many people are private but for Halloween and Christmas we plan to make them little surprise gift bags to sneak and leave in the hallway by each of their doors. It's ok if we still don't meet them afterward, it's about making people feel cared about, thought of and special and not about the outcome.
